indy metro at the art school

our friends from indy metro in downtown indianapolis made a trip to guatemala for a week.  something beautiful is happening through them, as they have partnered with a local art school to bring the love of Christ to kids and families in need, using the arts.

carlos and thelma lopez are some of our closest friends in magdalena.  i consider them missionaries to their own people, as they are always serving the people of this area in different ways.  primarily, they run an art school where they teach the kids how to paint and draw.  but most importantly, they want the kids to come to know God in a real way.

our friends from indy metro, who have a local church community in the arts district of indianapolis, have partnered with the art school.  they have now come down 3 times, spending most of their time here inside the school, and connecting with the families of the children who attend the school.

this last trip, they hosted a 4 day arts camp, and taught the kids painting, singing, photography, and theater.  in each area, they used creative ways to share the love and hope of Jesus.

as they connected with these kids throughout the week, they also visited the homes of some of the kids with greater needs.  they are currently initiating ministries to help meet needs that the families of these kids have.

they also replaced the roof of the art school while they were here, making a nice dry place for the kids to work going forward!

we are SO excited about this partnership and thrilled to be a part of the work that God is doing through indy metro and the lopez family art school!!!
