Nasaria is a 79 year old elderly woman who lives alone.  If you want to imagine how difficult Nasaria’s life has been, all it takes is a quick look at her feet.  We have never seen her wearing shoes, and her deformed and worn out - but strong and leathery feet seem to tell the story of a long hard life.

Her home is a tin shed tucked into some brush on a hill in the town of Buena Vista.  It is dark and dirty, with dirt floors, no windows, and no electricity.

Most nights Nasaria walks down the hill to her daughter’s home to sleep because she is worried that her home is not secure and is scared to sleep alone. 

On Saturday, February 28 2010, we welcomed Nasaria into her new home.  Emotional and thankful, she thanked God and all the people who helped make this happen.  She was proud to tell us that one of her grandson’s is going to live with her as well…
