Marta is a single mom living with her two teenage daughters.
Her previous home consisted of two rooms: a living room/kitchen and a bed room. The living room kitchen was made of lamina and corn stalk and had a dirt floor with an open fire and no furniture to speak of. The floor of the house was a little difficult to walk on as it was built on the side of a hill and was pitched at 30 degree angle. Marta's husband left her fifteen years ago and she's been making ends meet somehow for all these years - simply amazing.
At the key celebration, Marta, who had not spoken much through the construction of the home tried to speak but was overcome with emotion and began to sob. A distant dream that seemed
unimaginable was coming true. I told her that God has not forgotten her and He loves her. She was so happy, so thankful.. beyond words. A team visiting rom Journey Church painted the
house the same day as the key ceremony - she was so excited about their new home.
Welcome home Marta!
