This home was sponsored by some friends of ours that have chosen to remain anonymous.

Eulalio (dad), Maria (mom), and the kids, Sindi, Ronal, and Jamson.  The Marroquin's are a precious young family that we have grown quite fond of.

The first time we entered their home we were shocked at what we saw.  It was constructed of cornstalk and mud (which we had seen before), but the walls were leaning so heavily that they looked as if they could cave in at any moment.  Every couple feet or so there were posts in the ground to keep the walls from falling over.  The floors were dirt, the roof was falling apart, and gaps throughout the house would surely let the cold in.  They all sleep in one small bed.

On Thursday, January 28, 2010, we celebrated the completion of their new home.  It was a joyous time as we celebrated with home cooked fried chicken, sandwiches, and pepsi.  We prayed together, laughed a lot, and cried a little too.  Eulalio shared from his heart, that he never expected in all of his life to own such a home - and never knew how it could be possible for him to provide one for his family.  He thanked God, thanked all the family that sponsored their home, thanked the construction workers, and thanked us.

We presented the Marroquin's with an 8x10 of the family that sponsored them, and told them all about them.  We also gave them a photo album full of photos from the first day we met them through the current day.  In addition, a family from the US donated a kitchen table & chairs, which we presented to the family.

It was a wonderful day, and we look forward to continuing to build this friendship.
