Sports camps provide an opportunity to pour the love of Christ on kids in a way that they really appreciate and get excited about.  These kids (ages 6-15) live in very poor conditions.  Many are great athletes, but have never had a chance for this kind of organized instruction or competition.  Our aim is to secure the best venue in the nearby area (they will have to walk) and allow them to compete in a stadium where they are typically only able to "watch" the adults or leagues compete.  Our prayer is that through this relational ministry the kids and/or families can get a picture of Christ, and be touched by his love.

We are partnering with local pastors in each town to help with marketing (getting the word out) and also with ongoing contact with the families.  God has already connected us with guatemalan family, the Leiva's, who shares the same desire, and we are working together with them on this ministry.  

-going into poor neighborhoods and conducting a 2-3 day sports camp.  

-can be soccer, basketball, or possibly something else if a team has a specific desire.

-great way to connect with kids and families.

-these are kids who cannot afford to play in any leagues, etc.  many of them have never had specific coaching, and this is a major event for them.

-they receive a jersey and ball (assuming god provided the resources for each camp!)

-we teach them about jesus during scheduled intermissions and feed them lunch

-bracket tournament on the final day
